CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ANIMAL WELFARE ESSAYS
We are excited to announce an essay competition on the theme: “Animal Welfare in Ghana”. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your thoughts, research, and passion for animal welfare, and to contribute to a growing conversation about how we can improve the lives of animals in our community.
Competition Details
Theme: Animal Welfare in Ghana
The essay should aim at providing a general perspective/issue/challenge of animal welfare in Ghana or could be specifically looking at the following thematic areas:
General
Poultry (layer hen or broiler),
Aquatic animals (shrimp, tilapia, etc),
Livestock (cattle, sheep, goat)
Rabbits
Wild animals
Working animals (donkey), and
Others.
Submission Deadline: 31st October 2024
Prizes:
1st Prize: GHS750.00
2nd Prize: GHS 500.00
3rd Prize: GHS 300.00
Special prize: GHS 250.00
The special prize will be awarded to an entry that uses artistic, visual, or innovative methods rather than a long essay to portray a pressing animal welfare issue. It will be judged based on its creativity, originality, and effectiveness in tackling animal welfare issues in Ghana.
Guidelines:
Essays should be between 1,000 and 1,500 words.
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Include only factual information, personal experiences, or insights on animal welfare issues in Ghana.
Please format your essay in Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5-spaced.
Include your name, contact information, thematic area of the essay (listed above) and essay title.
